Rick Ross Leaves Slip-N-Slide & Preps Diss Track
Miami rapper, Rick Ross, has announced his departure from his label Slip-N-Slide Records. The rapper, who was the center of controversy last year after repeatedly denying allegations that he was a former correctional officer , will be putting out music through his own company, Maybach Music Group.
Follow up:
His upcoming album, titled Deeper Than Rap, will reportedly be containing a dis track called "Mafia Music" in which the rapper will be taking shots at some in the industry. Speaking on that track, Ross said, “It’s a scathing four-and-half-minute nonstop flow, me being autobiographical about my life and my come-up and my triumph...Of course, I had to address a few things, I had to address a few people. I love it. The thing is, some people are gonna be — um —they’re gonna be fucked up. That’s the best way I can put it.”
Also on the new album, Ross collaborated with singer John Legend for a track titled “I’m The Magnificent", which features production by The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Ross said that that particular track shows his growth as an artist and “The content is something that’s most definitely something real special.”
Deeper Than Rap is near completion and is scheduled for an April release date.
